Terms of use

Last updated:

These terms govern your access to and use of the GeoHub platform and its modules. By creating an account, being invited to an organisation, or using the service, you confirm you have read and accept these terms and the Privacy policy. If you use GeoHub on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

If your organisation has a separate contract or agreement with GeoHub, that agreement prevails where it conflicts with these terms.

1. Accounts and organisations

  • Give accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you suspect compromise.
  • Data and access are organised per organisation. Organisation owners and administrators manage members, roles, groups, OAuth applications and which modules the organisation uses; they are responsible for GeoHub use within the organisation.
  • Administrator accounts must enable two-factor authentication; we recommend it for other users.
  • One personal account per user; do not share accounts.

2. Acceptable use

You may use GeoHub for lawful purposes within your organisation and plan. You must not:

  • break Vietnamese law or others’ rights; upload content that infringes copyright, trade secrets, or personal data you have no right to process;
  • upload or process state secrets or data classified higher than the module and deployment profile allow;
  • gain unauthorised access, probe for vulnerabilities, bypass permission, organisation isolation or quota controls, or disrupt the service (including abnormal load);
  • distribute malware, use the service to attack others, or scrape data in bulk without authorisation;
  • resell, sublicense or offer the service to third parties beyond your agreement; reverse engineer or copy the platform’s software except where the law allows;
  • use platform output for purposes the law prohibits.

3. Your data

You (or your organisation) keep all rights in the content you put on GeoHub. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to store, process, back up and display that content only as needed to provide the service to you and the people you share with.

You warrant you have lawful rights in the content you upload and are responsible for it. Personal data inside content is controlled by your organisation; GeoHub processes it under the agreement and the Privacy policy.

Keep copies of important data outside the platform.

4. Third-party source data

The platform lets you find and use data from external sources. Each has its own licence which you must follow:

  • Copernicus Sentinel data: free to use under Copernicus conditions; when publishing, credit the source, for example “Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data [year]”. Data is provided without warranty and the provider may restrict access under its rules.
  • Digital elevation (DEM) and terrain data: follow the source’s attribution and redistribution conditions shown in the app.
  • Commercial satellite imagery bought through the platform: subject to the provider’s licence (permitted users, term, sharing and publication rights). Use it only within the licence.

GeoHub does not own these sources’ data and is not responsible for their accuracy, completeness or availability.

5. Sharing and public content

You may share content with other people, groups or organisations, or publicly (for example maps in MapHub once launched). Public content may need approval, and anyone can view, copy or keep it. You are responsible for what you share.

We may remove or restrict content that breaches these terms or the law, or at the request of a competent authority.

6. Data classification and national security

Each module and deployment profile allows data up to a certain classification only (for example only unclassified data in a commercial deployment). You are responsible for identifying and not uploading data above what is allowed, especially state secrets. Dedicated (isolated) deployments for state agencies follow the agreement and rules of that agency.

7. AI features and analysis results

Features such as label suggestions, object detection, remote sensing indices and the assistant may be inaccurate or incomplete. Results are aids only; check and cross-check them before using them for important decisions (safety, legal, financial, security). Content you provide is not used to train models shared with other organisations.

8. Modules, service changes and limits

Some modules or features are under construction and marked “coming soon” on the introduction site (currently MapHub and GAT); they are not offered until we announce them.

Plans, storage quotas, counts and other usage limits are set by the agreement with the organisation or platform configuration. When a quota is exceeded the system may block new writes; we do not delete your data automatically for this reason.

We may change, add or retire a feature; for changes that materially affect you we will give reasonable notice.

9. Service level and disclaimer

Unless a separate written service level agreement (SLA) exists, GeoHub is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to operate it reliably but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and may perform maintenance with or without notice in emergencies.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, GeoHub is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost data or business opportunity arising from use or inability to use the service, user-uploaded content, third-party data, or force majeure. GeoHub’s total liability (if any) for a claim does not exceed the fees you paid for the relevant service in the period the agreement sets or the last 12 months where there is no such provision. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using GeoHub at any time; organisation administrators may remove members or request deletion of the organisation. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, security risk, a request from a competent authority, or when the organisation has no valid agreement. Data after termination is handled under section 8 of the Privacy policy.

12. GeoHub intellectual property

GeoHub’s software, interface, trademarks, logos, mascot and documentation belong to GeoHub or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms; all other rights are reserved. Feedback you send may be used by us to improve the service without charge.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Vietnam. Disputes are first settled by good-faith negotiation; failing that, by the competent court in Vietnam, unless a separate agreement says otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the latest update date is at the top of the page. Continued use after a change takes effect means acceptance of the new terms; for material changes we will give reasonable notice.
